At what age should my child visit the dentist for the first time?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that your child should visit a dentist for the first time within six months following the first tooth eruption or at one year old. Typically, the first front tooth will come out at six months. This is the best time to discuss preventive measures to keep your child’s teeth in tip-top shape and detect any problems early on.
